CLASSES TWICE A WEEK!
Here, we teach the Filipino Martial Art of Kali: a beautiful, yet deadly art. Aside from being an effective self defense mechanism, Kali students will also experience lessons in control and discipline while training. Students will practice empty handed, with sticks, weapons, and blades- as Kali originated as a bladed art. Do more than just collect colored belts. Training in Kali will prepare you for a variety of situations. We practice empty handed, with sticks, with blades, and on the ground. Not only will you know how to use weapons, you will learn how to disarm weapons. We often spar to practice our techniques in real time.

Learning a martial art is more than just self defense. You will be surrounded by other students with a passion for martial arts. You'll be learning, working out, and getting to know the other members of our school. Sometimes, we will even have movie nights showing the best martial art films. What's better than that?

MEET PROFESSOR MINGO
Professor Frank Mingo began studying the Villabrille-Largusa System of the Filipino martial art of Kali in 1993 in Union City, California. The Villabrille-Largusa Kali System was founded by the late Floro Villabrille (1912-1992) and Ben Largusa (1996-2010).
Professor's instruction is under the current Apohang Tuhan (Grandmaster) Mel Lopez, and Tuhan James Berdal (Master). In July 1996, Frank attained the rank of Guro Lakang Osa (1st degree black belt) on the island of Kauai, HI. He began teaching in Indianapolis, IN that same year, and currently holds the rank of Professor Lakang Pito (7th degree black belt).
